More than half of all children experience common phobias, or fears, of particular items or people. Children may also exhibit signs of more general worry, or anxiety. It is normal for children to experience fears and anxieties. When working with young children, it is common for child care providers to observe them showing fear when encouraging strangers or separating from their parents.
